Mountainfilm on Tour visits Hilton Head Island on February 8, 2019 at the Coligny Theatre. Join us for an afternoon and evening of inspiring and captivating films handpicked from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado.
Founded in 1979, Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. The annual festival is held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride.
Mountainfilm is a dynamic organization and festival of films, people, art, stories, and ideas that celebrate indomitable spirit, educates and inspires audiences, and motivates individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.
Mountainfilm on Tour in Hilton Head will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and enlightening documentary short films that align with Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. A Mountainfilm presenter will guide the audience through the program providing insight on the films, filmmakers and subjects. Doors open for the matinee showing at 4:30pm and doors open for the evening Gala at 7:15pm.

Mountainfilm travels year-round and worldwide with a selection of current and best-loved films from the annual festival in Telluride. Mountainfilm on Tour presents both single-event and multi-day shows, hosted by a wide array of organizations, including schools and colleges, corporations, community groups and theater operators. Mountainfilm is regularly called on by nonprofit organizations to be part of fundraising events. Each year, Mountainfilm selects the best short films from their annual festival and makes them available for their hosts to select for their shows. Mountainfilm's fee-based structure gives local organizers the ability to set ticket prices, sell local sponsorship packages and conduct raffles to achieve financial and fundraising goals. Each show is emceed by a Mountainfilm presenter who guides the audience through the program, often sharing personal stories from his or her interactions with the filmmaker or the film's subjects.
Mountainfilm on Tour touches the lives of over 70,000 people every year and visits more than 150 locations. It's Mountainfilm’s way of extending the reach of the annual festival and helping filmmakers’ inspiring content be seen by audiences who otherwise might never have the opportunity.
